While trying to free my self with the OEM electric winch, the cable came of the spool and jammed itself. Could not free myself that night. The next day it took two of us 2.5 hours to dig the LC out. I had to take the winch of the frame and mounting plate to free the cable, while doing so the spool separate itself from the electric motor and the gearbox. Red oil was leaking out of the gearbox. It appears to be AT oil. Does anyone know exactly what kind of oil can be safely used to replace the lost oil?? That is staight from Warn. It is nor red, so I guess yours is not the same. Christo
