Correct? The simplest (and probably cheapes) is to bring them to a company working with break-parts. I got new linen on the handbrake-shoes on my laplender in hours. The price was not bad either, something like 250NOK (30 Euro, 50$). Hmm....would that be an efficient solution for the regular wheel brakes as well? (or would other considerations (wear/tear/corrossion) steer you to knew parts anyway (Land Rover or Volvo)) And/or: has anyone ever priced new shoes for the park brake drum? -- Bye, Willem-Jan Markerink The desire to understand is sometimes far less intelligent than the inability to understand [note: 'a-one' & 'en-el'!] To: Volvo303@yahoogroups.com From: "Cliff Lee-Buechel" Date: Tue, 06 Dec 2005 15:19:41 -0000 Subject: [Volvo303] Re: hand brake shoes Reply-To: Volvo303@yahoogroups.com --- In Volvo303@yahoogroups.com, "Willem-Jan Markerink" wrote: > > On 5 Dec 2005 at 16:33, Gr=F8nntass wrote: > > > Cliff Lee-Buechel : > > > I removed the hand brake drum today to find that my brake shoes are > > > bald as a slap head. > > > does any one know a replacement part type/number ? > > > > The simplest (and probably cheapes) is to bring them to a company working with > > break-parts. > > I got new linen on the handbrake-shoes on my laplender in hours. > > The price was not bad either, something like 250NOK (30 Euro, 50$). > > Hmm....would that be an efficient solution for the regular wheel > brakes as well? > (or would other considerations (wear/tear/corrossion) steer you to > knew parts anyway (Land Rover or Volvo)) > > And/or: has anyone ever priced new shoes for the park brake drum? Hello I dont think the hand brake shoes are avalible so a reline was the only option . As for fitting landrover shoes insted of relining the Volvo set I suppose becouse you can get a landrover set off the self its easier than a reline. regards Cliff
