The lights are stored in an extra bag and at command from lowest the platoonleader the four lights are placed in special 'holders' you can se in each corner of the vehicle and connected through wires to equal four outlets in the corner of the vehicle. The actual switch is funny enough for both 'peacetime' traffic safety and 'wartime' safety. I.e since the red button needs to be pushed in order to rotate the bigger switch, the purpose is a) To prevent anyone to enter 'wartime'-mode during 'peacetime' causing a total blackout (even the brakelights will stop working!!) and b) Anyone in 'wartime' entering 'peacetime-mode' hence being spotted by the enemy. The vehicle should been delivered to you without these extra lights (=classified as Warmaterial). My suggestion is (if you are not a 'mintcondition militaryvehicle guy') that you bypass the 'wartime' function. This because if some kid (or wife!?!) accidently rotates the switch during daytime, your brakelights will stop working and you will probaly end up in court...
