If the latter: only once, or a small batch, possibly with someone selling more of them? And of course: when was it made, and at what price?....:)) Thanx for any reply or explanation!....:)) PS: if possible your answer also please directly to w.j.markerink@a1.nl , avoiding this clumsy forum-format, thanx!....;)) http://forum.terrangbil.net/forum_posts.asp?TID=4939&title=diverse-tgb-delar-sljes xxxxxxxx Direct Link To This Post Topic: Diverse tgb delar säljes Posted: 05 Aug 2009 at 00:02 Har rensat lite i garaget och tänkte sälja av lite av reservdels lagret 1st tgb 20 växellåda zf s5_18/5 orörd original SÅLD 1st tgb 20 växellåda zf s5_18/5 modifierad till överväxel på 5:an 0.795 SÅLD 1st kyl 2" 4st stålkastare 2st framstolar, i fint skick 2st vikbara passagerar stolar i fint skick 1st original winch c303 med ny 40 meter 12mm vajer, linledare och vakumreglage men inga fästen till ramen 1st vänster framdörr i fint skick(ej alu) 1st höger framdörr i fint skick(ej alu) 1st styrsnäcka 1st komplett original koppling(lamell och tryckplatta) 1st startmotor 24 volt 1st laddrelä till 35A generator SÅLD 1st kopplingsvajer har en del annat smått med ifrån förarhytt såsom reglage, knappar m.m PM:a vid intresse //Daniel xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Post Topic: Diverse tgb delar säljes Sent: Today at 21:29 Sent by: Daniel.L Group: Admin Group Admin Group RE: Post Topic: Diverse tgb delar säljes Add to Buddy List Add Buddy Delete Delete Reply To Private Message Reply hi i try so answer but im not that good with the language the gearbox i custom built is a combination of 2 different boxes in the same family of zf s5-18/3 the standard tgb 20 gearbox was not hard to get hold on here in sweden but to get a gearbox with overdrive was a bit tricky i sercht for a sutible gearbox over a period of 10 weeks over the net and read all info i could get hold on just zf s5-18/3 is a hard to come by box mounted in several more exotic cars like "rally" and more sporty cars finaly i tracked down a masserati bi-turbo box with a price that was ok for something that i dident know if it was compateble with tgb 20 gearshafts it worked wery well, and the gears/sprockets? did match to move over to tgb shaft [picture #1] here the 2 sets of gears is removed, at left tgb 20 and to the right masserati [picture #2 / ID-/data-tag] regards Daniel Sent by : W-J-M Sent : 24 Sep 2009 at 22:15 -- Previous Private Message -- Sent by : Daniel.L Sent : 24 Sep 2009 at 21:29 > hi i try so answer but im not that good with the language Sorry, normally I start my PM's with 'hopefully I can write to you in English, but I was too focused on the gearbox technology....:)) > the gearbox i custom built is a combination of 2 different boxes in the same > family of zf s5-18/3 > the standard tgb 20 gearbox was not hard to get hold on here in sweden but to > get a gearbox with overdrive was a bit tricky > > i sercht for a sutible gearbox over a period of 10 weeks over the net and read > all info i could get hold on > just zf s5-18/3 is a hard to come by box mounted in several more exotic cars > like "rally" and more sporty cars > > finaly i tracked down a masserati bi-turbo box with a price that was ok for > something that i dident know if it was compateble with tgb 20 gearshafts > > it worked wery well, and the gears/sprockets? did match to move over to tgb > shaft > > here the 2 sets of gears is removed, at left tgb 20 and to the right masserati > > > regards > > Daniel Thanx, very helpful; I knew some have claimed that some other ZF S5/18/3 gears might fit, but I haven't seen anyone try it in reality. Did you ever mount & use this gearbox configuration on a TGB btw? Also, any reason not using any of the lower gears as well? (I know you might end up with more than just 1 'gap' in gear-ratio, in our application, but using all gears might at least avoid a single/large gap between 4 and 5....;)) Thanx for any further details & considerations! PS: was this the only Maserati box you could find, or were there more on the market? Or were the others too expensive, and this one was the only one with a decent price? Just curious what kind of prices to expect, also as a reference outside of Sweden....:)) Thanx a bunch, very interesting stuff! I did use the gearbox on my tgb13 togheter with mercedes 300 turbo diesel, the higer first gear was no problem when original tires was still mounted but with my new set of 37" tires the starting i rough uphill terrain got more hard to do sp i had to put pack the first 3 gears of tgb20 however that way is not so good when one need to rev up the motor just to get to 4:e gear from 3:rd im quit confident to say that if u find a S5-18/3 gearbox from any other aplication you could use the gears to change your standard tgb20 one way or the other some things i notis from my build is that ýou might need to "steal" parts from a zf s4-18/3 due to different ratio on the first shaft in to the box from motorside, that was what i had to do when using all of masserati gears i was lucky to get hold of my gearbox for a price of 150euro but that was from a guy that not know what to charge for it ex: i found one box on bildelsbasen(internet site for most scrapheps in sweden) and the whanted 1500euro for it and finding new spareparts is impossible from zf, the littel u can get hold on is way over priced the reason i used masserati was only that i could not find any other with overdrive, the gearbox is wery rare and hard to get here in sweden the cars that uses this typ of box is often i small numbers and they got old by now
