I got back late last night from the annual Great Smokey Mountain Trail Ride
near the Tennesse/North Carolina state line. It was terrific. The trails in
the Tellico Canyon have got some of the best in the country. There were
about 150 (wild guess) Land Cruisers from as far away as Califoria and
Ontario. Quoting from the Ontario fellers.."We need more photos, the guys
back home aren't gonna believe this!...Eh." (Okay so I added the Eh.)

I meet a couple of guys from Chicago in a dark blue FJ60. We nicknamed them
Bevis and Butthead. They were a trip. Always drunk, fighting, and listening
to Frank Zappa, but the diver was good. Never the less, they put on quite a
show going up #5. I still don't know how he did it but, in an effort to
escape a boulder stroon mud hole, the driver suddenly gunned it. Must have
suddenly gotten a lot of traction in the rear, because he suddenly shot up
near verical on the back right wheel, nearly doing a spectacular roll over.
Everyone coming behind them around the corner just stopped and drop there
jaws, as it came back down on it's wheels with a sicking slam (and clatter
of a bunch of cans and bottles). After a few seconds of silence you could
here "Goddammit you jerk, you spilled my beer!"

I'll scan some photos soon and put them on the web. If anyone else has any
stories I'd love to here them. (What the hell happened with the girl who
rolled the FJ40?)
