Have you heard of condensation? If you want GOOD advice go talk to a marine shop. They can sell you the products you will need to keep the engine from rusting out on the inside. The fuel tank is another question - the marine guys are used to aluminum or poly tanks so they may say to empty the tank but if you empty a steel tank you will end up with a tank full of rust. Believe me, rust is worse than varnish. Didn't you ever wonder why it is always the tops of the fuel tanks that rust out and not the bottom where the fuel sits? (Provided you don't have water sitting at the bottom of your tank) There are fuel stabilizing additives at all automotive parts shops and home and garden centers, these products stop the fuel from turning to varnich. Use that or just drain out the old gas once you want to start using the pig again. IF you don't think that condensation can do much to an engine or gas tank, look at some in a wrecking yard. The cylinders rust within weeks and the valve train will look like it's covered in red moss. I have seen differentials where 1/2 the ring gear is rusty above the gear oil level after only sitting one year. This doesn't mean that you can't store the beast - but leaving vulnerable steel containers (tanks, cylinders, gear boxes) empty is not a good idea. _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses.
