Reply-To: dtlc@helios.net Okay, now that we're through with 1HZ, what about 1PZ? =) I'm asking for a new club member. What's the general impression of that, reliability mainly? It's a -90 PZJ-75 pickup the engine's in. -- Antti Rauramo Secretary of SLCK Helsinki, Finland From: michel_bertin@hotmail.com To: dtlc@helios.net Subject: Re: [DTLC] 1PZ? I guess they were having more problems with them in the mines. My 2 cents. I had one for a safari vehicle in Kenya in a troopie and it ran the wheels off all the diesel discos. I liked it. The experience in the mines here in Canada was not so good though. These were the engines that replaced the 3B and the miners hated those 5 cyl jobs. The biggest problem was the injection pumps went to a rotary style. These were the first rotary injection pumps in Cruisers and they were very problematic. In my conversations with mine maintaince types they have all told me the BJs were indestructible (even the new 3BIIs) and most still have a few running underground. Compare that with the fact that almost all mines have decomissioned their PJ75s and Ens stalks almost no parts for them. You can still get almost everything you will ever need for a BJ though. Greg
