No, it's true, several US manufacturers are offering 5.29 gears, but not for 8" high pinion, for 9.5" Land Cruiser differentials. There already is a 5.29 high pinion 8" ring and pinion gear. All-Pro Offroad http://www.allprooffroad.com and Marlin Crawler had a run of them made by the OEM gear maker. Th minitruck/Four Runner crowd in the US all run the reverse rotation unit in their front axles for better drive shaft clearence with 5 inch lift springs over the axle. Strength isn't really a problem, some of them are even used in the ARCA competition rigs. The problem is that no one currently makes a 5.29 gear set for the 9.5 inch Land Cruiser diff.
