Actually, no. I just changed my throw-out bearing. Yes, just the bearing. I did not have to "drop" the tranny. I recalled that the last time I had the tranny out, what a royal pain it was to get back up onto the engine. This time I pulled the seats out, lifted off the tranny hump, disconnected the drive shafts and speedo cable. I got a big stick (used to be a stop sign post) and put one end on the dash and the other end on the back seat. Took 4 of those ratchety tie-down straps and looped 'em over the post, under the tranny. Put the floor jack under in case the straps didn't hold. Tightened up those straps, loosened those bolts, swung the tranny back about 4 inches until there was room to slide the old bearing off and the new one on. Greg Dyche '74 this and that
