It's something that should be there, like the tire valve caps, to minimise dust ingestion or is it just a "anal" thing. If advisable to have them do I need to go to Toyota or any brake shop will do? I used some plastic hose, right size to force over the whole valve, and melted the other end closed. When I needed some seals for a rear caliper I replaced them, but still have them in the garage. Need to keep all that stuff clean, as it can corrode and be nearly impossible to work with. My 2Cents. It's both dust/dirt entering (and messing up the valve functioning, no more bleed) and corrossion in long term I believe. (these nipples are only electro-galvanized (yellowish) AFAIK, which is generally only good for indoor rust-protection (which is also why Kaymar & TJM should be ashamed to put that wimpy layer under their powdercoating...;(( -- Bye, Willem-Jan Markerink The desire to understand is sometimes far less intelligent than the inability to understand [note: 'a-one' & 'en-el'!] To: <80scool@yahoogroups.com> From: "Joaquim Pinto da Costa" Date: Thu, 22 Jul 2004 16:26:57 +0100 Subject: Re: [80] Rubber caps on brake bleeder valves Reply-To: 80scool@yahoogroups.com > separately. You have to buy a caliper rebuild kit to get them. According to my local Toyota parts man that's only true for the front ones. The back ones are, if someone is interested, 31478-30010, a set of four (hoping that they also fit in front, 5.74 euros. I don't remember paying so much for so little rubber.
