I appreciate it. These look much more affordable than one recommended by a supplier. I forget which brand it was but not the price - around AUD$10,000! regards, Martin -- Email: mje@primus.com.au Fig Tree Pocket, QLD, Australia FROM: w.j.markerink@a1.nl (Willem-Jan Markerink) SUBJECT: Re: Recommendation for an A3 scanner? The Mustek can also be had with a transparancy-lid, but I hope you understand that it offers neither Dmax nor dpi to scan slides. For normal scans I am still satisfied with my old b&w HP-scanner....but I sometimes want to scan newspaper articles, and those are often too large....so for my purpose, even an A3 b&w scanner would have been enough (keeps the file-size down too!). Anyone having an old A3 b&w scanner to offer, for say US$50?....;)) Proprietary card is fine (that's what my HP now has too)....8-)) Heck, perhaps even an A2 scanner, for full-page articles?....:)) -- Bye, Willem-Jan Markerink The desire to understand is sometimes far less intelligent than the inability to understand [note: 'a-one' & 'en-el'!]
