DATE: Fri, 26 Jan 2001 14:52:13 -0000 ORGANIZATION: Cable & Wireless INS Customer Posting NEWSGROUPS: sci.optics,sci.optics.fiber Can Anyone please help me find any pigments , fabrics, or paints which are refelective in the near IR (850-950nm) range. I'm not too concerned with the reflection in the visible wavelengths. I need to coat/apply patches to an object which will be illuminated in the IR and viewed with an IR filtered Camcorder. any help or links would be much appreciated. tia, JB FROM: JoeBeets SUBJECT: Re: IR reflective paints or pigments? An aluminized paint would probably work too. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ FROM: Alessandro Del Bianco SUBJECT: Re: IR reflective paints or pigments? Nearly all inorganic materials do - CalciumCarbonate, ZincOxide, BariumSulphate, Aluminum or Zirconium Oxide, CopperPhosphate and most green pigments, many blue pigments have red tails that open up and transmitt in the NIR. Many black glasses including RubyGlass (RG700) filters.
