To: infrared@a1.nl Send reply to: infrared@a1.nl As much as I dearly love Clive for his courageous gamble in allowing me some probably-undeserved space on his IR FAQ webpages........I disagree with him, and others, about the use of Konica IR and an 87 filter. I think that where we differ, mostly, is regarding film speed. I don't consider an ASA rating of one or below a particular problem. The things I photograph - except for occasional pesky fast-moving clouds - can wait as long as I can. I fondly remember shooting a number of rolls of Kodachrome 10, donated and long expired, at ASA 2, with my hand-held Exakta, which I processed as B&W film. I can't remember the details, but it was in the 50's, they came out fine, and thank goodness for the Aruba bright sun and a reasonably fast Zeiss Biotar lens. I shot a few rolls of Konica in Ireland, in September. If it hadn't been SO rainy, would have shot many more. I was very pleased with the results. For me, the difference between between the 87 and an R-72 (89B, I believe) which I have also used, is very noticeable. I would like some halation, though.......hence all of my fiddlin' around with the 70mm HSIR. If anyone would like to try out the 120 Konica 750, I may be able to give some advice. Let me know.
