Send reply to: eos@a1.nl Dear Group, Anyone ever tried to have one of the earlier Canon/Kodak digicam's (DCS-1/3/5, based on the EOS-1n) upgraded with one of the Special Custom Functions? (for the 1n in general, by Canon Service, one out of 19 possible; see http://www.a1.nl/phomepag/markerink/cf_eos1n.htm for the complete list) Having a DCS-3, I would like to add #12 (delaying film transport until after you lift the finger from the release button (like the old RT had standard (but the 1n-RS does not(!)). The only thing between the Kodak back/booster & the 1n is a 3-strand wire.... (which also makes me believe that one can easily retrograde such a DCS-1/3/5 back into an ordinary 1n....had the 1n-RS not come with it's own fix-mounted booster, I might even have tried to combine an 1n-RS with this Kodak back....:)) (mark my words: once the digital hype is over, and we finally have full-size chips for a decent price, the only improvements left will be speed (ASA) and luxury features/models like a pellicle mirror....too bad there is nothing to invent after that, because it means that my ideal model won't see a price drop as all the previous did....;)) -- Bye, Willem-Jan Markerink The desire to understand is sometimes far less intelligent than the inability to understand [note: 'a-one' & 'en-el'!]
