I snapped off my short side FF rear axle right where the axle joins to the flange. No real big deal, unbolted the flange, slid the axle out, put a rag in the hole and put the flange back on. Then winched to the top of the hill. The problem I have is that I drove home in one wheel drive and 10min from home my rear end started making some really bad broken pinion type noises. It wasn't the pinion, something else, took the other axle out and drove home with the hubs in in 4WD. Pulled it all down today and have found that I have taken all of the teath off my driven clutch plates on my locker. Rang Locked Drive Systems in Sydney (the Australian importer) and they want $270 plus 10percent GST each of the two I need to replace. That would make it about AU$600 for a locker I payed $1100 2 years ago for! The locker is a late model noSlip Detroit for FF TLC. The Australian dollar worth about 50 US cents. Any US listers able to give me an idea of the replacement costs? For those dollars I could buy a good second hand ARB locker (don't want to put one in the rear as they are weaker) or for half the price and get a spool (and buy more tyres). TIA Benno
