I was reading the press release for the D2000 at
http://www.europe.canon.com/products/photo/press/eosd2000.html and ran
across this:
Remote Switch RS-80N3:
The original remote switch has been restyled, to make it more ergonomic.
It has also been re-designed, to make connection with the camera better by
employing a plug in 3 pin connector with a lock mechanism. In addition, a
small pocket has been added on the rear side, in which you can keep the
remote socket cap.
Remote Switch Adapter RA-N3:
Allows the existing remote accessories user to employ the LC3, 60T3 and
extension cord 1000T3, with the EOS D2000.
So, can the engineer of the T3 come out of his corner now? :-)
George!

Ha, another Sherlock!
Good searching, my compliment!
We can now all start wondering whether the ranting on this list (and
not only mine!....okay, okay, mostly....;-)) was the main driving
force for this redesign.
I *think* we can put on the shelf of "EOS-Mailinglist
Accomplishments"....:-))
At least the label is nice...."Death of the T3 socket".
I am close to replacing a bunch of connectors on my spaghetti salad
of wiring (timer, extension cords, splitters), but the job will be
much more pleasant, knowing that the next EOS body won't have this
dreadfull ergonomic nightmare present.

Mmm....only if he also offers an upgrade for the existing
bodies....;-))
