There was no pressure coming from the cooler lines and their system relys on the vehicles own pressure. They said they did a Camry last week that took almost 2 hours because Toyotas use a relatively low pressure setup. I was wondering if there is a thermostat that controls the flow of coolant to the cooler and that maybe it was not hot enough..... Norm? Anyone? I had no problem with my 91, it had about 11psi as read on the Jiffy Lube Machine. Could they have hook it up Backwards? Usually they test it by a quick engine start and shutdown to see which direction the fluid pumps. On another note I got hassles about them wanting to even do the job in the first place. The Valvoline place said Toyota uses a high pressure system and it binds our machine - and even if it didn't a LandCruiser is an expensive vehicle and we don't want any liability problems so take it to the dealer. Jiffy Lube said it's and expensive vehicle with with high miles, we don't recomend changing fluid after 70K miles cause it could wash out clutch packing and cause slippage....Please sign here if you reallllllllly want us to do it. Did it - runs fine - fluids are meant to be changed!!! If this is the case, perhaps the low pressure cannot overcome that height (head of pressure). Jiffy Lube should be addressing this problem by putting their machine and it's reservoirs lower. Oh....no thermostat that I know of. Do you know TJL (automan;-)? The Transmission oil cooler line/s do not have a thermostat in them. The oil should flow well out of the pipe when disconnected unless there is a restriction in the pipe ie; kinked line etc. Are they draining pre Rad oil cooler or Post Rad cooler? perhaps it's too restrictive or it's restricted too much?
