They start at about $4,500.00 usd. I was lightly interested when one of my deer lease customers had two of them. The probleme for me is that most of them have right side drive and from what I have been able to find out are not licensable for highway use. Not even close to my 710M. Daihatsu has had those things for years in the US.  Great for maintenance and security work at shopping malls and parks.  Be fun to offroad at a golf course..;)   see if you could clear the sand traps. lol

It also gives some insight to what the Haffy 2 would have possibly looked like if Mercedes hadn't stepped in with the  G Wagon development at SDP and killed the redesign of the Haf.

It is the same as buying any quad ATV or UTV--they may be great for all of your off-road utility needs and adventures, but they will never have the rare combination of good off-road capabilities and on-road legal use. That is why the Haflinger is such a great vehicle if you are looking for something smaller than the Pinzgauer. The last time I looked, Haflingers are in many cases costing more than a Pinzgauer 710m. Not true. Given if the vehicle is 25 years or older, it may be possible to register it for the road in any state. In California, if it has all the basic lights, and 1974 or earlier, I see no reason to not be road registered.... it is no different than a Haffy in that respect.......

If you take a look the video as the bike combo gets airborne I think the sidecar passenger needed a shock absorber or two to maintain his compos mentis.

Delightful as the driver was obviously having the time of his life hanging out.

This appears to have no direct equivalent in English, several on-line dictionaries giving the closest equivalent as the english word "dray", commonly used for a small horse-drawn cart. The word was sometimes used for a horse-drawn hearse, but a far nicer example is "brewers dray", the heavy trailers drawn by equally- heavy breeds of horse, and which are still sometimes used for delivering barrels of beer (ah, "barrels" of beer - may not translate to North America ...) in London and other UK cities. The Fardier is no Pinz, although I've often thought that one hanging on davits on the rear might be a nice touch!
