Reply-to: landcruisers@tlca.org The new 70 series was released in japan on 4/8/1999 I picked up a magazine last night that had an extensive article on the new truck. Some interesting facts that I forced my wife to translate; New 5 speed to replace the H55F designated the R151F Ratios as follow 5 4.313 4 2.330 3 1.436 2 1.000 1 0.838 R 4.220 Axle ratio 4.300:1 New sized disk brakes Old New Diameter 302 322 mm Thickness 20 32 mm Transfer case ratio 2.295:1 16" wheels on a 5 bolt 150 mm diameter pattern. New auto locking hubs with an auto and locked selector controlled by an interesting little key (like a bike lock key) with the holding end of the key shaped like a lug nut (I presume this is to prevent unauthorized locking of the hubs???). Front coil suspended live axle (no information given on the ring gear diameter, so perhaps no change). Square axle tubes. 1HZ engine is stock (here), looks like no other option. Changed from 24 volt to all 12 volt. Electric Locker or LSD available. It looks like the travel in the front end is 155 mm and 115 mm up and down. In the rear it is 185 mm and 115 mm (I may have these upside down). Good article, it goes on for about 40 pages. October issue of 4X4 Magazine.
