Jan All of the 4wheel drive emblems I have were actually black inside... my friends red 79 has the orange one. maybe it depends on year and color of vehicle. I have a pumpkin orange 73 fj55 and it has a black emblem and the two other FJ55's I have both have black inside, but they are early(69 and 71). I would guess that the color changed in 1975. it seems the later ones were orange, maybe early rigs ended up with the later ones, since there are two part numbers, one for early and one for late.
