In general, a faulty oil-pressure sensor might prevent starting (not sure how to bypass or falsify that one), and beyond that it could only be the pump, which is electronically controlled too.... No warning light during starting? (before starting they all light up of course) And didn't you get some kind of 24-hours service from Toyota? I believe it to be a fuel issue rather than electrical. On each occasion when it has happened, I have given the fuel pump a couple of manual pumps from under the bonnet, and it has started. It has only happened twice, and each time it has started after pumping the fuel pump. I had the fuel filter laying on its side for a while, while I fitted a third battery tray to hold be compressor. The car hadn't been driven all weekend and the filter had been knocked around a bit whilst trying to fit it into its new position on the battery tray. I had the electrical plugs all pulled out and lying around too. I started it at the end of Sunday just to check that the compressor was working and that I had put everything back properly. It worked fine, then I turned it off and gave up for the day. First thing this morning about 1 deg ready for work and it just turned over with no fire. I pumped the little black button on top of the filter a coupl= e of times then it started nicely.=20 I either did something I shouldn't have on the weekend or this is a common problem and this was just a coincidence??
